Cold-process saponification preserves the glycerin naturally created during the soap-making process, so this bar cleanses without the tight, stripped feeling of commercial detergent bars. Dried lavender buds are folded straight into the batter for gentle texture and a scent that holds up in a steamy shower, and a generous pour of olive oil keeps the lather creamy rather than foamy. Lather generously with warm water using hands or a washcloth. Rinse well and store on a draining soap dish between uses to extend its life.
